FROM THE PASTOR'S PEN

What is occupying your mind these days?  Is it Earthquakes?  Tsunamis?  Family issues?  Finances?  Retirement plans or funds?  Recent events in Japan have clearly reminded us again that we are truly in God's hands, and it is futile to try to live our lives apart from Him.  I have wondered what the folks in Japan must be thinking regarding the massive task of building back knowing, that this same thing could happen again.  So often we tend to focus on what we can do so that we can live independent lives---independent of The Lord, but He is kind to remind us "that without me ye can do nothing." [John 15:5]  We would all be wise to keep our minds focused on Jesus Christ.  Paul expressed his concern to the Corinthian believers that he was fearful that they would allow the serpent [Satan] to lead their minds astray from the simplicity that is in Christ.  [2 Cor. 11:3]  Let's do as Isaiah 26:3 says, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:  because he trusteth in thee", and stay occupied with serving Him.  He is coming soon!
